BusinessWeek Advertiser Listing Guidelines The goal of BusinessWeek is to present to users and advertisers a comprehensive and relevant marketplace. We have partnered with IndustryBrains to offer a targeted marketplace program for advertisers. The relevancy of your IndustryTarget content listing is important to drive targeted customers to your business.
BusinessWeek/IndustryBrains does not use "bots" or "spiders" to judge relevancy. Our human editors look through each listing to make sure that the information is a good match for the site.
In order to do so, our advertisers must adhere to strict Listing Relevancy Guidelines.
They are as follows:
IndustryTarget Categories Ads should target the type of customers who might be researching a particular subject area.
URLs Clicking through to your site must not interfere with our browser's back button. Spawning of multiple pop-up windows upon click through is not permitted. Your site may generate a single pop-up console only, but it cannot entirely block the web site associated with the MarketPlace listing. BusinessWeek will deny all listings that trigger excessive pop-ups.
Multiple Listings Advertisers are not allowed to have the same content categories for multiple URL’s.
Titles and Descriptions Titles and Descriptions must be relevant to the search term/category as well as the site they are referring to. Having effective titles and descriptions will increase your chances of driving targeted buyers to your site.
Penton's New Hope Media will deny all listings that have text in ALL CAPS. In addition, URL's and Phone numbers within the listing information will also be denied.
Specific Web Sites All Web Sites listed must be an active and working web site. All non-working websites will not be approved.
Competitive Offerings In certain instances, Machine Design.com may not accept competitive products and services. Decisions will be made at our sole discretion. Our human editors will inform you if your listing has been denied.
Adult Content Sites BusinessWeek does not allow Adult Content advertisements.
Search Engines and Directories All Search engines and directories, pay for performance networks and Yellow pages must choose search terms that pertain to the nature of these sites, such as, “Search engine”, “Yellow Pages”, etc.
Gambling Sites Sites that promote gambling will not be accepted in by BusinessWeek.
Other Sites Sites that promote email spamming will not be accepted.
